LABOUR PROPOSALS. NOT EXTENSIVE ENOUGH. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, .March 17. Proposals for further relief of unemployment were submitted by a spoei d eommitt' e to the Labour Conference. These provide for a capital l.vy and a steeply graded super tax on higher incomes, the conduct of Stale lottery bond loans and advertising tax. The present relief tax of a shilling in the pound on wagon to be uLinial 1,- eonv-rted into an unemployment insurance fund. The couiniilteo c ndenined the failure of the Federal Government to evolve measures to cope with the financial crisis to protect workers standard oi living. 'The proposals did not go far enough for .many delegates and were referred back to the Committee. The- miners ‘delegate opposed all •reports submitting an amendment for an extended scale of relief up to 92s 6d fortnightly. One speaker declared the miners wore preparing to leave the A.L.P. They would not endure much longer the pittance received from present Labour Government. “if a plate glass window is all that stops them, that glass j.s going,” A DENIAL. SYDNEY, March 17. Abbott, the organising secretary of the producers advisory Council, denies sFatemcntis at the Labour Conference that recently formed organisations c-on-templa’ed revolutionary tactics. From the beginning they stressed adherence to constitutional methods. 'They are not attacking workers; but are in reality lighting their battles.
