THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES-
THE AYOOL MARKET. AVliile the conviction held by leaders in the wool industry in New Zealand that nr ices had reached rock bottom has had ample corroboration in recent market developments both in Aus-ralia. and in London, the confirmation of this sanguine view, which is reflected in the sharp rise in values at tlie Dunedin sale, will be regarded as both timely and eonvineng. Pastoralists all over the Dominion will welcome the firming tendency that was exhibited at what has been unquestionably the best sale of the current selling season. Higher rates for fine wools that bulk so large' in Offerings at local auctions were generally anticipated, but growers had' small reason to expect the keen demand for crossbred wool, which had the effect of raising values for this class of fleece to a level not previously reach, ed at New Zealand sales this season.
