“WIZARD” SMITH
AFTER SPEED RECORD.
f United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] LONDON, Alarch 14. Ah- Alalcolm Campbell, in an exclusive interview with the Australian Press Association, said; “If the information concerning his car is correct, I believe that ‘Wizard’ Smith stands an excellent chance of beating niv Daytona record in his forthcoming attempt on tlu* Auckland beach. If h© dues, I will certainly go to Auckland with the 'Blue Bird’ and make an attempt to regain the record. Smith’s engine is the .same ns mine. With an average amount of luck and good conditions, I quite expect him to pull off the record. The ‘Blue Bird’ is now en route to the Buenos Aires Exhibition. It still has a few miles an lioui in reserve. It has been tuned up in view of tlie possibility of another record run. At the moment that I hear of Smith’s success, I shall prepare for going to Auckland, feeling confident the ‘Bine Bird’ can travel faster .than any ear in the world to-day.”
