RADIO PROGRAMME
(Supplied by the Radio Broadcasting Company of N.Z. Ltd.) WEDNESDAY, MARCH l lth. The Auckland Artillery Band, under Mr Wynne Smith, will give a concert at IYA this evening. Bandsman 0. H. Bye will contribute a cornet solo, Bandsman E. Smyth a baritone solo, and Bandsman S. Fullerton a basstrombonc solo. On the vocal side, the artists will be Mrs Arthur Osborne (soprano) Miss Winifred Johnson (contralto) and Mr Jan H. Burry (tenor).
2YA will broadcast, the next of the series of overseas programmes. Dr Guy H. Scholefic'ld, 0.8. E. will give a nx.uk on ‘MVlntlLicis of International Interest.”
A vocal recital by Mr Harold Prescott, tenor, will form part oi 3YA s Wednesday evening programme. There will be orchestral accompaniments to his four songs. Listeners "ill also welcome Mr Rudie Peterson, well known in theatrical circles. He will contribute a humorous song and two old favourites. Also on the programme will be' Miss Gladys Brooks (soprano) Miss Beatrice Claridge (piamstc), Mr R„ ‘OhLsen (cornetist) and the Studio Octet under Mr Harold Beck. 4YA’s concert programme this evening is to be nrovided by the choir of the Trinity Methodist Church, under th e conductorship of Mr James Simpson. This choir is one ol the best balanced combinations in Dunedin and specially fortunate in possessing several fine soloists.
THURSDAY, MARCH 12th
This evening an old-time Nigger Mim-trel .'show will be featured by the IYA Broadcasting Choir and the following artists: Mr J. M. Clark (interlocutor) and Messrs Elton Black, Stan Asquith, Eric Waters and lam Bar nos ( corner-men). ‘.Soloists will he Miss Audrey McDonagh and Mrs A. M. Smith, with Mr C. Thomas as banjo accompanist.
The 2YA programme will be given by tlie Wellington Artillery Band, under Captain T. Herd and ‘i'l A artists. The vocalists will be the Lyric Quartet and Alias' Blanche Godier (contralto). Miss Godier is a newcomer to 2YA*.
3YA’s programme will be of an operatic-classical nature, followed at 9.30 by a dance session. The contributing artists will be: Alls J. A. Stewart (mezzo-soprano). Mats Betty Sutton (soprano), Mr Robert Allison (baritone), Mr A." E. Hutton (flautist) and the Studio Octet. Four of the studio violinists will play I olhurst s “Anne Bolcyn Gavotte.” Silent day at 4YA.
