Messrs M, Houston and Co. will hold a stock sale at Wataron on Thursday, March 19. Addison's have just opened up Wfucevettes, plain and floral in shrimp, lemon, blue and cream. Also good value in Flannelettes plain and striped. Prices right.-—Advt. A serious break ooeurred in the water supply pipe line yesterday afternoon. which gave the Borough staff considerable work. The party worked under very wet conditions till about midnight restoring the broken connection, but at an early hour this morning a fresh break occurred, and the men were at work from 4 a.m, till the forenoon when the connection was finally restored. The break was at Tucker Flat where there is a weak link in the pipe line owing to the heavy pressure in the soft country.

A special meeting of the Hokitika Borough Council was held at noon today to receive the Town Clerk’s report in regard to the electoral roll. "Present. Mr D. J. Evans (voted to the chair), Messrs Heennn. Duff, Heinz, Armstrong and Dr. Teiehelmann. Mr Coles reported the preparation of the roll and the deletion of names of those who had left the district. The roll was approved and the'. Deputy Mayor, Mr Armstrong and Dr, Teiehelmann authorised to sign the roll. The Mayor (Mr G. Perry) here took his seat. Tenders for printing the electors' roll were opened. and that of YV. E. Richards accepted. It was reported good work was being done in the- clearing of the north belt drain which would relieve the Sewell Street drain of much extra water. The levels required in respect to the latter drain were to be taken ns soon as the surveyor was available.
