Tlie National Swimming Championsi ups concluded at the Gonvilla Baths bn Saturday evening. The weather was fine and there was a capacity attendance. Gordon Bridson of Auckland was successlul in retaining the men'is 441) yards title, thus equalling his effort of last year, when he won every senior free style, event at Greyinoulh. His times, however were not nearly so good, but this is attributed to the slowness of the water. Results;— 440 Yards Men’s Championship;— G. Bridson (Auckland) J ; A.. T. Stokes (Canterbury) 2; 11. Nelson Shield, Life Saving event: — Lycll Bay (Wellington) 1. Won by a narrow margin from the title holders. Maranui (Wellington) while* Maraimi B filled third plac-e. The William Henry Memorial Shield was won by Maranui B, with Opunakc second, and icouiui (’ tid'd. The Champion Beltman’s Competition was won by L. Brown (New Plymouth), for the second year in succession.
