RADIO PROGRAMME
(Supplied by the Radio Broadcasting Company ol - N.Z. Ltd,) . SATURDAY, MARCH 7th. Broadcasting artists will contribute to the concert to be given by the Auckland Municipal Band (under Capt. Geo. Buckley) this evening. They will be: Miss Cicely Audibert (so. piano) and Air Frank Sutherland (baritone) will also contribute items. Til© concert will be a particularly good one. This will be Miss Audibert’s third and final recital in Auckland. 2YA’.s vaudeville programme will bo provided by Miss Muriel Johns (popular songs at the piano), the White Coons Novelty Trio, Mr Leu Ashton (humorous reciter), Mr T. C. Rodger (dulcimer Soloist), Mr William Charles (tenor), Mr Stanley Chapman (’cellist). The Orchestral numbers will comprise Flotow’s “Stradella,” selections from “Lilac Time,” “The Suite Oriental ’ and the latest dance novelties.
There will be plenty of variety in 3YA’s concert, programme which will also lie broadcast by 4YA. The contributing artists will be: Mrs C. E. McDowall (soprano), Mr Stanley Hood (bass-baritone), Mr Douglas Sucltling (tenor), the Joyon* Pair (in cabaret songs at the piano), Mr Stanley Birch (banjolir. solos with piano accompaniment), Miss Irene Morris (violinist), Mr Jock Lockhart (Scottish humorist) iind the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio.
MONDAY. MARCH 9th
The chief feature of 2YA\s programme this evening will he the items by Miss Cicely Audibert. the Christchurch soprano, late of the professional stage, who has been specially engaged by the Radio Broadcasting Company of N.Z. Ltd., to appear at all the YA stations. The Ariel Singers have prepared a remarkably fine programme of quartettes, trios, duets and solos. Among the solos will be three' fine Scottish songs sung by Mr J. M. Caldwell. Mr Gordon Short, pianist, will play “Tlie Brook” and the “Musical Box,” two intriguing numbers by Sauer.- The Orchestrina will play a charming arrangement of “Russian Folk Songs” and other tuneful nurub-
'lhe last of the Monday evening openair concerts will lie broadcast by 3YA to-night. The New Brighton -Municipal Band has been engaged and will present one of their usual bright programmes. Tin* assisting vocalists will be Mr C. L. Richards (baritone), Mr R. S. H. Buchanan (bass) and Mr L. T. J. Ryan (humorous reciter). A combination, known as “The Ambassadors” consisting of nine artists will perform for IYA, playing ballads and the latest popular songs. .Miss Constance Pool, contralto, will sing among one of her numbers “1 he Poet's Life” by Sir Edward Elgar. Artists on the same programme are Mr James raterson who will present Scottish humour. Miss Rita Holmes (soprano), and MrC S. Hawes (baritone.) Sup. porting The Ambassadors, on the instrumental side of the programme, will be a piano novelty by Mr Moore-M ilson and a saxophone solo by Mr H. Ahum, a "'muher of the baud. Silent day at IYA.
