N.Z CONFERENCE.

At a conference of swimming delegates, held this morning, Timaru was granted the next New Zealand senior championships, and Wellington the junior and intermediate fixture. it was decided that an intermediate girls’ dive and 100 yards intermediate boys’ backstroke championship be add ed to the junior championhips. It was resolved to make representation to the Government with a view to empowering local bodies to create satety zones at open bathing resorts, and authority to enforce local restrictions.
It was also resolved to urge the Council to make repeated efforts to get the Government grant restored.
