CRICKET
On the twenty-eighth day of this month the New Zealand Cricket team will sail away from Wellington on the second crusade to the Old Land. That the excellent impression created by our players in 1927 should be confirmed is evident from the fact that the players selected to make the tour are al lin form, and those who will be visiting England for the second time will be ripened by the experience of English conditions gained four years ago.
The only doubtful starter of those originally selected is I. B Cromb. pf Canterbury, who is reported to have developed an attack of hernia, and may have to undergo an operation. Followers of the game throughout the Dominion will devoutly hope that the able Canterbury all-rounder will shake off his 'disability, and thus avoid an operation. It would lie extremely bad luck to be laid aside on the eve of the grand tour.
