Miss Cicely Audiert, soprano of Christchurch, who is touring the New Zealand stations under engagement to the Broadcasting Company, will be featured on lYA’.s programmes this evening. M,r Arthur Wright will present a series of bass-baritone songs. Miss Edpa Langmuir a very versatile entertainer, will he heard in piano novelties and vocal foxtrots. Comic songs will be sung by Mr W. 11. Pearce. 'lhe orchestral octet will present a variety of selections and a gramophone lecture recital will he given by A Commcntat-
'lhe Wellington City Salvation Army Band, under Bandmaster Scotncy, will provide a programme lor 2YA. A popular entertainment may he expected. The assisting vocalists will be the Melody Four, Mrs Allwright (soprano) and Miss Molly Withers. Miss Marjorie Alexander, a very brilliant young pianiste, will be heard from 3YA. The Studio Octet’s programme will include “Hero’s March’ (Mendelssohn), the overture to “Norma,” “Melodies of Grieg” (arranged by Mr Harold Beck), incidental music to “Monsieur Beaucaire,” Ames’ Harvest Festival,” “Folk Song and Fiddle Dance,” “Rigadon” and “Roman Revels.” The vocal portion of the programme will be provided by the Grand Opera Quartet, whose items will lie of an operatic-classical nature. Silent day at -IYA. FRIDAY, MARCH 6tn. Auss "Cicely Audibert, soprano of Christchurch wiio is touring the YA Stations under engagement to the broadcasting Company, will give her second recital at IYA this evening. Mr Hugh Woods (bass-baritone) will also tie on the programme. Two new humorous entertainers' will be introduced, The Tollys, who will present some diverting nonsense. A very popular programme will bo contributed by the Octet. At 2YA Mias Myra Sawyer will sing “The Wren’> and “Crossing th 0 Bar,” Mr W. Boardman’s sums being “Venetian Song” and “Pass livery Man.” As a duet—“ None so Pretty”—will be sung. There will be tenor solos by Mr A. Coe. Mr Allan Shand will contribute novelty items on the piano. There will also be selections by the 2YA Oichestrina.
Excerpts from the popular musical comedies, “The Girl in the Taxi,” “Sally,” and “Mary ' will comprise the vocal niimbcijs of the musical programme at 3YA. Humorous items will he contributed by Mr Geo. Titeheiior. The instrumental programme will be provided by Miss Aileen Warren (pinnistc) Mr Fred Fox (cornotist) and the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio.
Listeners who tune in to TV A thi s evening can be assured of a really bright, varied and novel two hours’ entertainment. The vocal side of the programme is in the hands of Mifls M. \ inkers (soprano), Mrs K. Stone- (contralto). Mr H. Prowse (tenor) and Mr W. Ruff ell (baritone). Miss E. M. Holland is to appear in two character (sketches. The instrumental side of the concert will be- a veritable pot pound of pleasing numbers. Mr W. T. Devlin will present marimbaplione solos and Mr. E. Murphy, mouth organ solos. Mr R. G. Napier will make his reappearance at T) A with brilliant piano novelties. Mr Ted Farrant will present violin £olos with light vocal effects.
