NEW RECORD ESTABLISHED,

The American athlete, Harlow Rothert, established a new Australasian record at the Waimate amateur sports meeting by throwing the disc-us 144 feet 61 inches, which is' five feet four and half inches better than the previous record.
George Simpson, the American sprinter, equalled the Australasian record by doing the hundred yards in nine four-fifths seconds.
