2d TO 3d LB. CANTERBURY SALE. ( Ily Tcleijroph —Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, March 3. The prices realised at the wool sale here Lo-day showed an advance of lroin twopence to threepence per lo on those of January. The sale catalogue comprise,! 13,121 bales, mostly hack country clips. The quality was below ibe average of the catalogues for this period of the year. The bidding throughout the sale was keen and often excieted. Practically the whole catalogue was clean d. Japan was a keen buyer for all serviceable line wools. Bradford bought extensively. Franco was also in the market. Compared with the January auction, Corriedale wool was better by 2.)d to 3d, and merino only slightly less. Crossbred was 2d better. There w:i: a good demand for fine crossbred, the scale of prices being more than a penny per pound better than at 1 Inopening sale in December. The top price of the sale was l.OfJd for 33 bales of halfbred. The range of prices is as follows : Merino: Super S:,‘d to R-Jd, average Ini to BdJ, inferior 5-Id to (>:,'(!. Corriedale : Super Rd to l(!d, average 7d to-SR I, inferior 4;jd to Old.' Fine Halfbred-: Extra super to 10:,’d, super Del to lOjcl, average 7Jd to Mj|d inferior 5d to 7d. 1 Medium Halfbred: Super 3.1(1 to 10. pl, average* 7d to rv'pl, inferior to 6 pi.
