The annual West Coast Swimming Championships were held at the Bunanga Swimming Baths yesterday aiternoon in glorious sunshine. There was a large crowd ol spectators, including visitors from Westport, Hokitika and the surrounding district. ihe gold medal presented by Mr 1* • Muslin for the competitor gaining the most points, was won by Miss b. Staines (Hokitika), wlio was an outstanding performer, winning with ease the Girls’ 50 and 100yds. and the Ladies’ 50yds and the 100yds ehanigionsliips.
