Mr Simon Philipoff, the Russian musician who has been touring the world with his balalaika, in the playing of which he is such an adept will give a recital of three numbers as his contribution to lA'A’s programme this evening. Miss Kay Christie’s contralto songs will he of a popular type.

Mr H. YYnrburton will contribute baritone solos. Foxtrots mid waltzes will bo played by the Zoalnndia Novelty Instrumental Quartet, and the popular Asquiths will provide a twenty minute drawing-room entertainment. Wellington's civic reception to Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, which is to take place in the Wellington Town Hail this evening, will be broadcast by 2YA. The Dulcet Quartet (Mrs W. B. Harris, Miss Nellie Lowe, Mr H. .1. Francis and Mr A. 0. Thompson), Miss Maisie Ottey (a clever novelty pianiste) the Studio Octet and Mr To Ari Pitama lecturer, will provide 3YA’s programme. A very bright programme will be provided by the Studio Octet. Mr Pitama will speak on “The Involution and development of Maori ■Music.’’. 4YA has an exceptional entertainment for this evening, A concert programme of sea songs will he followed lyv the presentation of the stirring sea story 7 “Galapagos,’’ to be produced under the direction of Major Lampen. To-morrow afternoon -ITA will broadcast a description of the N.Z. Amateur Athletic Championships. SATURDAY FEBRUARY 28th A group of four Welsh songs will form part of lYA’s programme this evening. The singer will be Reg. Morgan, baritone, who was born and roeeivel his musical training in South Wales. A new vocalist to lie beard will be Miss Betty Zukerinan, soprano A humourous elocutionary number and a burlesque lecture will be given byMr Zante Wood. F.ric and Jack will provide novelty piano and vocal items. Tbe programme by the Orchestral Octet will include the march “ Nelson’s Call,” the waltz Afyddleton’s “Scottish Memories,” “Him"rari‘l n Lustspiel,” two South American tunes, a characteristic piece, Von Blon’s “ Traiunbild ” and two intermezzos. Hie Lyric Male Voice Ona.Unt. with Mips Flora MacKenzie in songs at the piano, will provide the vocal portion of 2YA’s programme. Mr Norman Tzett will proide novelty piano items, and a clarionet solo. “Alicante.’’ will he played by Mr H. Langtrv. Many popular numbers, several of them being from musical plays, will be provided by the Salon Orchestra, under Mr AL T. Dixon. 3YA also lias a of much variety. Mr E. R.
