Charged with fraudulently failing to account for money collected by him on behalf of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, Harold Vernon Walsh, insurance agent, who appeared lie fore Mr 11. A. Young S.M. in the Timarii Magistrate’s Court to-day admitted defalcations amounting to £93 10s 9d and was committed to the Supreme Court at Christchurch for sentence. The money was appropriated on various dates between November otli. 1980 and February 7tli. PRESBYTERIAN GENERAL ASSEMBLY. WELLINGTON, February 25. A Pn ■ss Association message from Auckland on Tuesday stated that the Presbyterian General Assembly convened to he held in Wellington and opening on 3rd March would he postponed. This, Rev. -1. 11. McKenzie (Clerk of the Assembly) states is not correct. The Assembly must meet as appointed last year, hut the officials of the Assembly have given notice that there will he, as soon as the Assembly meeting is constituted, a motion to adjourn for some months and that it is desired only a quorum of fifteen should attend. Some are opposed to the delay and the proposal may. or may not. be earned.
