The shareholders in Associated Newspapers Limited, Sydney, to-day endorsed the directors’ recommendation, by 172 votes to 86, that the “Sydney Evening News” lie suspended until the economic conditions war- | ranted its republication. Addressing the conference of citrus growers. .Air X. Underwood, of Mildura, said that he had received information from the hankers that the exchange rate might- fall at any time, and that it certainly would fall before the end of March. The reduction was expected to be at least fifty per cent. SWIMMING EXHIBITION. IN SYDNEY HARBOUR. SYDNEY. February 27. A novel swimming exhibition will be provided in Sydney Harbour on Sunday week when Miss Lily C’opplestone the New Zealander, and Irene Rolle of Bondi will endeavour to swim from Circular Quay, Sydney, to Manly, about seven miles. They will ho protected b.v shark proof nets 'thirty foot long and twenty feet wide, five foot deep which will he towed between two launches. Tho girls are at present in training and are confident of success. Sharks are usually plentiful in the harbour at this time of the year
