NOT NEGOTIABLE IN SOUTH AFRICA. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this dav at noon A CAPETOWN. February 20. Australian silver coins are no longer negotiable hero, the post office, banks and municipal treasury rotusing to accept them. The Government, however. lias not taken action nor changed its policy. Tt is pointed out that Australian silver lias never been legal currency in the Union, though it was freely circulated for many years at face value. The quantity now in circulation is not large.
