Firth, New Zealand Government Agent, was also present. The oaken casket rested on a dias at the side of the pulpit and was almost hidden by magnificent wreaths. Ten thousand |>eople gathered outside, the .church to watch the funeral move' away, 'The interment was in the family vault at Lilydalc Cemetery.
