A number of islets appeared, and with a gale looming, Captain McKenzie decided on 14tii February to head for the open sea through snow and darkness ,until daylight disclosed the siiip had miraculously traversed a course in which there were many grounded bergs, and bad gained the lee of these, lorty miles north of the land.
The vessel is now awaiting the gale to abate.
