It puzzled the police until Sir Spilbury’h investigation convinced them that the tragedy was the re* Stilt of a students rag. No sound was heard during the night. There was no sign of a struggle and no strangers were about the building. It is believed the tighness of the knots when the body was found was due to rigour mortis. A man could not have so tied Ellis, unaided.
