A RAUF SIGHT. ABNORMAL IN SIZE. CBy Telegraph —Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, February *23. Greatly increased solar activity is reported by Mr G. V. Hudson, of Karori. There is a very extensive group of sun spots, 130,090 miles long by 50,00-9 miles wide, visible at present on ilie sun’s western hemisphere. For the next two days. at. least, tips gigantic group should he clearly visible to the naked eye, provided that care is takes to look through smoked or coloured glass. The largest spot, of the group measures about 50,000 miles by 40,000 mill's. It is surrounded by a very large .irregular umbra, and is traversed by several incomplete bridges. There are two other very large spots in this group, and many smaller ones. Another extensive group of spots, 80.000 mill's long, and two smaller groups, are visible on flic eastern hemisphere'.
