BRADMAN IN NEW ROLE. SYDNEY, February 13. Don Bradman, world-famous cricketer, figured in a charming little episode in Sydney last week, when lie fulfilled the long-expressed wish of an old lady living at Dulwich Hill by calling on her. . „ Mrs Lydia Campbell, a bedridden invalid, living at Dulwich Hill, has been a keen follower of all Don Bradman’s exploits since he made his sensational entry into cricket a few years ago. She has hundreds of newspaper cuttings referring to Bradman, as wblJ as a special copy, sent from England, of his book on his life and the recently concluded English tour. Several of her friends, who had heard that Bradman would be in a neighbouring suburb one night last week, which night coincided with the date of Mrs Campbell’s birthday, asked him if he could spare a few minutes to call. He consented readily, and when he had completed his business in the adjacent surburb, called at Mrs Campbell home. She had been told to prepare for a surprise and the pleasure which sprend over her face when she realised that her greatest wish had been fulfilled amply repaid the cricketer. He spent several' hours with Mrs Campbell, telling her at first hand how he made his record score, and discussing with hey other details of the English tcur mil • areer In the cricketing world. “I have seen him, and I tilink he ifl just as wonderful as a boy as he is fis a cricketer. I am writing to his mother to tel lhsr what a wonderful son she has in Don. He is my Prince Charming,” said Mrs Campbell.
