Representations have 1 been made to tlu> Canadian Government, it was stated to-day. that ' a conference should he held in which Russia, Australia. Argentina, United States and Canada should participate for discussion of the wheat situation. Tfc is understood so far the Canadian Government does not take kindly to such a conference, the proposal for which emanated from Washington. Advocates are quoting Alexander Legget. retiring chairman of the I nited .states 1* arm Board, as stating such a conference might he advantageous possibly . disclosing on the part of Russia readiness t<i agree to a more orderh marketing assuring better prices in all producing countries.
