Visiting British Industries Fair with the Duke and Duchess of York and Duke of Gloucester, the Queen commenced with the Marketing Board’s bright pavilion and shook lianas with Mr H. T. B. Drew, New Zealand publicity officer, and remarked on the effectiveness of the display. She expressed sympathy with the earthquake sufferers. “H'ow plucky they are” said Her Majesty. “How quickly they are getting down to business and rebuilding the damaged areas.”
