WEST COAST BOWLING TOURNAMENT. The West Coast! Bowling tournament was brought to a conclusion at Runanga on Saturday when there was the most perfect weather conditions. The final of the Pairs championship was played between two Westport teams, and resulted in a win on the last bowl by Mr F. Blaxall and partner, the score lieing J. Green and F. Blaxall 17, E. Lee and H. Harrison 15. The Champion of Champion singles contest took place during the day, play starting ml, 9 n.m. and continuing until after 5.15 p.m., when the winner proved to be Mr P. McKinlay of Westport. The details of the play were as follows: — ROUND 1. Stevenson 22, beat Mori It. Mercer 26," beat Burt 10. McKinlay 15, bea't Leach 14 (after being 14 all on the 21st head). Leach and his team of Runanga, the pairs Cup to Mr F. Blaxall and partner of Westport and the Champion Singles Cup to Mr J. McKinlay of WeS;port. Complimentary reference was made to the generous hospitality of the Runanga ladies who were attentive and generous t° au extreme to all visitors who heartily appreciated the attention given. Brief acknowledgment were made by the recipients and the tourney successfully concluded at 5.30 p.m.
