Fob, 15, Mr Legge’s resignation is.believed to be due to the opposition from various sources to his grain stabilisation policy and the violent controversy in which he was involved last year not only over professional grain trading interests opposed to the farm boards activities, but certain sections of wheat, growing areas. He was also in sharp conflict with it particularly over Legge’s reduced wheat ocxeag?. Surmises here .concerning Legge’s successor point to vice-Chair-man James Stone of the Farm Board. RELIEF FOR FARMERS. WASHINGTON, Feb. 15. Congress passed, and Mr Hoover to day signed n compromise Drought Relief bill, following the controversy cabled on 10th. February appropriating twenty million dollars for loans to farmers for rehabilitation of farms inclusive of fond supplies and sanitation and two million for special fund for farmers in South Eastern states.
