SHARING WORK TURNED DOWN. (Jiy TeUujrapit —Per Press A ssociution) CHRISTCHURCH, February 10. By a. majority of five to one. Christ, eliureli Tramway-men's Union Ims decided against the Tramway Board’s proposal to institute rationing of work oji the basis of one day off in four weeks. The decision was by ballot. Already a number of the employees hare been dismissed, and their reinstatement depended on the Union's do-, cision. They will not now be rein-j stated. I CIRCULAR LETTER.
AUCKLAND. February 10. In a circular letter to his clergy. Right Rev. Dr. Liston. Bishop o» Auckland, notifies them that he has decided to postpone his projected offeial visit to Rome. Dr. Liston thinks that, owing to the distressful time through which the Dominion is passing, he should remain with his people. MAN'S DEATH. 'INVERCARGILL, Feb. 10. Word has been received by the police here from the manager of Milford Hostel that a man named R. A. Begg. who was seriously injured when descending Cascade Peak on Sunday, died there to-day.
