Caroline Plew, single, aged 53, employed as a domestic servant, was found hanging in the washouse of her employer's residence yesterday. The evidence showed depression after a recent operation. GREY.MOUTH, February 11. Owen Stanley George McKay, aged two years, wandered on to the railway line at Aratika at 8.30 this morning and was struck by a train. George Longford, Claude Minifie, and Arthur Ernest .Joseph Victor, theft and mischief each to probation for two years. SOLICITOR’S TRIAL. AUCKLAND, February 11. The trial of Brian Dunnlnghani, the young solicitor, on vai ions charges connected. with declarations concerning State advances is in the third day of hearing. After hearing legal argument in chambers. Judge Herdman ruled out four of the six charges. No evidence was called in defence on the remaining two. Counsel is addressing the jury this afternoon.
