A SERIOUS CHARGE
OUTSPOKEN COMMENT, (A list ra I'm n Press Association.) (Received this day at 11 a.m., ■SYDNEY, February 11. Declaring in the Legislative Council that lie would draw attention to the great financial danger to Australia, -Mr Maeartlmr Onslow, after calling Mr Lang a liar suggested (lie possibility of a conspiracy between the public men in this country and speculators aboard to “hear ’ Australian stocks to profit themselves. There was a great chance, he said, for politicians to have accomplices abroad to make big inonev at the expense ot Australia’s reputation and credit. The attention of the publie should lie drawn to the sayings and doings of certain men. A charge was made in Parliament last week by Premier Lang that Sir Norman Kater and Sir Henry Braddon both “members of the Bank Boards, wore exploiting the,, fanners for political purposes.” After Kater and Braddon had contradicted this statement, Onslow rose and said:—“Now that honourable members have proved the Premier of the .State a liar.” he was ordered to withdraw. He then made the foregoing remarks.
