DECISION TO GO TO ENGLAND. CHRISTCHURCH, February 9. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-day considered rhe question of whether the cricket tour to England should be carried out this year. The decision of the Committee was that the tour should go on. In a statement the chairman, Mr Donnelly, said it would be impossible, he feared, to cancel the arrangements without considerable expense. Finance would be more difficult owing to the Hawkes Bay help probably not being available but the Committee hoped to sell more shares in New Zealand Cricket Limited. He thought the effect of the postponement might, damage New Zealand’s reputation abroad, suggesting that the depression and the earthquake were more serious than they actually were. The Committee were doubful about the return from an Art Union. They hoped to ho able to finance the loan wholly through ihe company.
