la Bonn:its xkxi knckd. (Jiy Telegraph—Per Press Association) PALM I ALSTON NORTH. Feb. 9. In the Magistrates Court, Percy Edmonds and Richard Sullivan, described as labourers with no fixed abode, were charged with being found at the refugee,s camp at the Showgrounds without a lawful excuse. The former was sentenced to fourteen days imprisonment and the Utter to one month.
SOLICITOR SENTENCED. AUCKLAND, February 9. Leslie Bruce Gilfillan, -17. a solicitor of Hamilton was sentenced by Judge Smith to two years reformative on eight charges of theft of trust funds totalling £‘27(). But for a medical report stating that Gilfillan had been suffering from a severe illness, the sentence would have been one vein longer.
