BONUS FOR WHEAT. SYDNEY, February 6. The “Pictorial” says the Federal Government’s plan to assist wheat growers is completed. A special farmers relief loan of five million sterling will be placed on the Australian market, The money will be disbursed to farmers in the form of a bonus per bushel. It is intended to bring, their return to the vicinity of 3s per bushel. They will not have to repay the money. *. WOUNDED CONSTABLE. DARWIN, February 6. Constable Reid, who was wounded in the recent Communist outbreak has been discharged from the hospital, but has not returned to duty. An injured Communist, Gordon, is also out of the hospital, but was arrested for wounding Constable McNab, who is still a patient. It is reported that the Communists intend meeting on Sunday in readiness for the Court proceedings on Tuesday. Since the riot Communist meetings have been held, either in obscure corners or in camera.

Portion of Lismore business centre is submerged and the residents are being rescued from houstops by police boats, which are perilously overloaded. Miles of dairying land is inundated. Kyogle is also partly under water and it is still rainng. Goraki was deluged and is menaced by the flood water but the danger has passed on Tweed river, which is receding. - All. trains have ceased on the North Coast. FUTILE CONFERENCE'. 4 CANBERRA.
