THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
THE PRESSING NEED. There is something really fine in the response that has been made to tfie call for assistance in the stricken areas. Homes arc being opened to thousands with wonderful willingness, and efforts are being made to see to the welfare of the women and children, but when all that has been done there will remain the duty of providing temporarily for those who must remain, That is the task which confronts us to-day, and those who know New Zealand best know that the capacity is there to do the thing.
