The village of Menemen is resounding all day with the sound of hammering in connection with the erection of thirty gallows for the execution of dervishes cabled 29th. The sentences are expected to lie ratified to-day and the executions .take place at daylight on Tuesday. One of the "leaders will b<iianged on the spot where a Turkish soldier was beheaded on the day of the outbreak, some in front of the masque and others where the demonstrations carried out their Turkish, executions. Gruesome spectacles of prisoners in long white shirts placarded with the nature of their crimes stand on a high stool which is kicked away. The victims are more often strangled. Young girls will he tried to-morrow.

TWENTY-EIGHT HANGED. (Received 8.45 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, February 3. Thirty-two gallows were erected but the National Assembly ratified the sentences of only twenty-eight Dervishes who were executed at down with placards on their breasts—-“ Thus arc punished traitors of the Republican regime of Kcmal Pasha.” Victims hands were tied behind their hacks, and surrounded by troops led to the gollows. Under martial law nobody wsa allowed to leave their homos before eight, hut Menemen villagers watched the executions from the windows, the bodies hanging until noon.
