MINES DEPARTMENT PROPOSITION (By Telegraph—Per Press Association , WELLINGTON, February 3. With the object of helping the gold, mining industry and assisting in the relief of unemployed, the Mines Department is placing a preposition before the Unemployment Board by which the Board subsidise money for prospecting cm a £1 for £1 basis. It is felt that parties of men, led by experienced prospectors, could this way be engaged in profitable work.
