SHEARERS STRIKE ENDS
POLICE INTERVENE SUCCESSFULLY.

Police visited the strikers’ camp at Emerald and searched for firearms. Striking shearers were ordered to disband and most of them returned home. The police also ordered the release ot two men held prisoners by the strikers. Various meetings, by a two to one majority, favoured declaring the strike off. Shearing has commenced at several stations.
