STOLEN JEWELLERY RECOVERED
GIRLS TO BE CHARGED. AUCKLAND, January 28. Jewellery and clothing valued at £IOO, said to be the proceeds of three burglaries at Mount Albert, were recovered by detectives to-day. The thefts occurred within the past week, jewellery and other valuables worth £6O being taken from one house. The mother o-f a girl aged 12, to-day found tlie girl in possession of several expensive articles. She advised the police and a search of the house and surroundings was made by detectives. Valuables alleged to have been stolen were found under the bed and m a hedge. A similar enquiry at the residence of the girl’s friend, also aged 12, revealed further articles, which were said to be the proceeds of thefts. As a result of statements made to the police by the girls, they will appear in the Children’s Court.
