TOURIST DROWNED
INVERCARGILL, Jan. 26
During heavy rain on Friday night, Mr Harridgc, a tourist from Melbourne, was drowned in a mountain stream on the Mackiiinon Pass, on the Milford track. The body was recovered on Sunday and subsequently conveyed, to Glade House.
Deceased wax a brother of Airs A. Kilpatrick of Boddytiowni. Mr Harridgc. who whs on a holiday tom of tlie Dominion, had visited his sister earlier this month, having come from Kerang. Victoria, Australia, where he had carried on the practice of a solicitor. He was middle aged. Deceased recently made a trip to tlie Lrani Josef Glacier, and had remarked that; New- Zealand scenery was full of beauty and interest from end to end. On January Bth, Air Harridgc hooked through the Tourist Department at Greymoilth for.. Milford -Sound, and also made arrangements ,for .his return passage from the Bluff to "Melbourne/ ‘
