Brisbane 3/-, Adelaide 5/-, Perth 5/6, Hobart 4/-.
New South' Wales Labour Caucus to. day instructed Premier Lang to approach the Loan. Council for a grant of one million sterling for necessitous farmers.
EFFECT IN LONDON, STOCKS "RISE OK MARKET, LONDON, January 22. The “Morning Post’s” financial editor says: A good feature of the markets is a fairly general improvement in Australian loans. Some justification can be found for this improvement in the Australian cables referring to the cuts in wages of a fairly substantial character, which indicate that the Australian authorities are really trying to bring down the cost of production. This is a most important development.
