ST. LOUIS. January 2
Thirteen-yenr-old Adolphus Busch Ortinveiu, heir of one o the wealthiest families in the United States, wa s kidnapped while being driven to the home of his grandfather, August Busch for a New Year’s Eve dinner party. Twenty hours after bandits had captured him the 13-year-old boy was back home, unharmed. He told a lively story, saying that he was kept blindfolded during his captivity. The family lawyers admitted negotiating with the kidnappers, and the police dropped the case, believing that the demanded ransom, £20,000, had been privately paid.
