TWO COLLIERY DISASTERS

FIVE MEN KILLED. FIVE ENTOMBED. (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, January 22. Five miners were killed in an explosion at Aiteheugeieh colliery, Lanarkshire. while live were entombed at Hanley. Auchengeieh explosion followed the firing of a shot, killing instantly five wording in the section. Six. including one member of the rescue party were overcome by gas fumes and taken to the hospital. Four hundred were working wlien the roof of the pit fell in at Hanley. All succeeded in escaping, except five. So far desperate attempts to rescue them have been unsuccessful. It is unknown whether they are still alive.
