Two sisters of the Nazareth Home, Christchurch, are on their annual visiation to the West Coast and are at present in Hokitika. A pleasant function took place at the Mental Hospital on Wednesday evening, when the members of the staff met to say farewell, and make a presentation to Nurse Armstrong, who is shortly to he married. The presentation which consisted of an afternoon set, iorks and spoons, and fish knives and forks, was made hv Dr. Hayes, who in the course of his speech referred to the recipient’s excellent qualities as a nurse, and expressed his regret at losing a member of the staff so well qualified to help in the work of the institution. Nevertheless, he wished her happiness in the married state. Mr F. Freitas expressed Nurse Armstrong’s thanks and appreciation for the very handsome present, which would serve to remind her of her pleasant association with the members ol the Institution. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought a happy function to a close.
