According to the “Daily Telegraph,” “Government and private arsenals are being worked at high pressure in Ttaly, to supply armament, munitions and equipment.” In fact, the naval centres of Italy are described as presenting scenes of activity “unparalleled in peace time.” Last, year Italy launched seven cruisers, as against one launched by France and none by Britain. Sixteen warships were also completed for Italy last year, and an order for twenty-two submarines lias just been placed. This last is said to be the largest single order given by any Power since the war.
