GUY MENZIES
FLIGHT TO DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) TIMARU, January 17. Guy Men.zies, piloting a Canterbury Aero Club plane, and accompanied bv Albert James, bis co-partner in te Southern Cross Junior, spent two hours in Tiinaru en route to Dunedin to-day. Two other Club planes made the trip to Tiinaru, but only one proceeded to Dunedin. The planes were met some distance north of the town by Oscar Garden, the England-to-Australia flier, so the town bad the honour of the presence of two distinguished airmen. Menzies and James were the guests ol the South Canterbury Branch of the Canterbury Aero Club at a dinner here and were accorded a welcome by the Mayor, Mr W. Angland. The visitors who were, given a fine reception in the town, were also fare welled by a large crowd.
DLINEDIX, January 17. Guv Menzies arrived at . the North Taieri Aerodrome at 3.48 p.m., from Timaru, and was accorded a civic reception by the Mayor (Mr R. Black), in the presence of a large and enthusiastic crowd. Menzies is leaving here on Monday for Christchurch. He flies- to Blenheim on Wednesday in the Southern Cross Junior, and thence to Wellington, flying to Auckland on Thursday, and is leaving Auckland to be in Sydney by February 10th. The plans for the Japan.'trip are Indefinite as yet, hut probably Menzies will, .return to New Zealand with “'Wizard” (Norman) Smith, when he makes his attempt on the motor-car speed record.
