The State Cabinet dealt with the question of unemployment relief work rates and conditions for all trades. A wage increase was agreed upon, and the forty hour week reduced to thirtyfive hours.
Premier Lang stated the Governmenthad definitely decided there should be no alteration in the closing hours of hotels.
An increase in stamp duties and death duties was agreed upon at the Cabinet meeting.
Government also decided to raise additional revenue by means of a special tax on petrol bowsers.
