GISBORNE, January 15

A Gisborne Railway Committee met this evening and decided to send the following cable to Hon. Mr Forbes. — “Poverty Bay is very dissatisfied with tlie stoppage of the Gisborne railway Urgently request you to give this matter immediate attention on arrival in the Dominion, and arrange for yourself and Ministers to investigate the position on the spot.” The cablegram is signed by the* Mayor on behalf of all the local bodies.
