OPITIKI TRAGEDY
CORONETUS FINDING, (Australian Press Association.) OPOTIKI, January 12. After a strenuous trip to vFaihou Bay, Coroner F. J. Stout and Constable Breed held an inquest into the deaths of Hemara .Arike, aged 26, a widower, with two children, and Ills sister Ani. single, aged fifteen. The bodies were found near the deceaseds father’s residence lying together, the 'brother holding a gun between his legs and the muzzle pointing to the forehead. The tops of both heads were brown off. After searching for evidence, tile Coroner found that rthe male deceased shot, the girl and then rumself. The reason of the tragedy was tire fear of the consequences and the discovery of their immoral relationship, which shortly before had, been reported to the police.
