At Dallas, in Texas, the Billy Edward s-O’Dowd wrestling bout held some thrills for a, big crowd till it developed at the end into a spar between Billy Edwards and Jack Dempsey, who was refereeing the contest. Then Dempsey removed all doubts of his ability to come back, when his right to the point crumpled Edwards into an inest- mass in his corner. Edwards had nettled Dempsey by tearimr off bis shirt when warned for continuing to hold :oh to O’Dowd after the decision had been given on a fail. Dempsey’s shirt eventually went to a - score of women fans in tiny pieces as souveniers, after a diverting female scramble. The crowd went wild with delight as tlicir sine let-clad idol ducked Billy Edwards’ swing, and then sailed ir, ; and ended the wrestler’s career for p long count.
