YOUTH’S CRIME
LEADS TO HIS SUICIDE. (Australian Press Association.) - SYDNEY, January 9. Stanley Jackson, aged IS, hanged himself with a strip of blanket at Long Bay Goal overnight. He was awaiting trial for the murder of Mrs Gerslieb aged S 7, whom he allegedly brutally assaulted on December 18th while trying to steal her handbag. She died' from the elieets of that ordeal on January 2.

Tnrrawaddy Rebellion is subsiding anti trouble in other areas is definitely crushed. During the last few days Crown forces frequently clashed with the rebels, who are estimated to have lost over two hundred and fifty dead, and three hundred wounded since the outbreak started.
