WANTED A ROLLS ROYCE

-x Hawkes Boy farmer tells a good story of an encounter he had the other day with'a swagger, says the “Telegraph.” The gentleman in question drives a very ancient car, the hood of which has long ceased to function, and has accordingly been removed. Driving along the other day, he met one of Hawkes Bay’s floating population and offered him a lift along the road. The swagman cast a disparaging eye at his vehicle, gazed intently at the sky, thanked him politely, but eschewed the pleasure of riding with him, stating that it looked like rain and he’d wait for a closed car.
